Yoga retreat in enchanting Puglia, Italy

14th - 20th July 2024

About La Rosa

La Rosa dei 4 Venti is an ancient 17th century Masseria which has been lovingly restored as a calm and peaceful place to retreat. Located in the heart of the Itria Valley close to the town of Martina Franca and many white-walled medieval towns and villages.

The retreat is immersed in the quiet countryside, between oak forests and Mediterranean scrub, orchards, olive groves and vineyards. The countryside of Martina Franca is dotted with characteristic trulli and a riot of colours from the green of the olive trees and vineyards, to the white of the trulli and the deep red earth.

From the hills you can make your way down to the coast, midway between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Small coves and rocky inlets and further south the long sweeping sand dune beaches of the marine nature reserve.

Retreat Programme

There will be a yoga class each morning and evening in the beautifully restored stone barn yoga space. A bright and spacious environment with natural wood flooring, a vaulted ceiling and fully equipped with mats and props.

Each day will begin with a morning class of meditation and a flowing asana practice to gently open the body and attune the mind to the breath. The afternoon class will be a more restorative class to delve deeper into the postures. The classes will be suitable for all levels and yoga experience. There will be one yoga free afternoon and no yoga on travel days.

Things to do

Puglia is an enchanting region of Italy with many interesting historical towns to visit, fabulous countryside for walks and endless beautiful coastline to explore.

Between classes there will be plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. Relax by the pool, have a massage, take a walk in the private woodland of ancient oaks that is part of La Rosa and home to two beautiful donkeys.

Or you can head out for the day to explore the hilltop towns of Alberobello, Locorotondo, Martina Franca or Cisternino or the coastal towns and sweeping coastline from the Adriatic to the Ionian seas.

Accommodation and food

The bedrooms at La Rosa are split between trulli rooms, in the traditional cone shaped dwellings traditional for the area, and spacious rooms in the main house and close to the shala. All are very individual and charming and have en-suite bathrooms.

Delicious and healthy vegetarian brunch and dinner using local produce will be offered each day. Teas and fruit will be available throughout the day.
