A peaceful week of yoga & sunshine in Almeria, Spain
15 - 22 August 2026
About the Finca
This stunning venue is on the edge of the Cabo de Gata offering a peaceful setting with a spectacular mountain backdrop.
Almeria is Spain's sunniest region and one of the least visited. The venue is on the edge of one of Europe's most remote and beautiful natural parks, the Cabo de Gata, with a wonderful wild coastline. It's an amazing landscape of perfect half-moon bays, hidden coves, bizarre volcanic rock formations and spectacular flora and fauna.
The charming local village of Nijar is within walking distance and can be seen across the valley at the foot of the spectacular mountain backdrop. Almeria airport is just half an hour away
The daily programme
There will be two yoga classes each day with Emma in the fully equipped, spacious and airy yoga shala. The classes will be suitable for all levels and yoga experience. There will be one yoga free day and no yoga on travel days.
Each day will begin with a morning yoga class of meditation and a flowing asana practice, opening the body and attuning the mind to the breath. The group will meet again in the late afternoon for a second more restorative class to delve deeper into the postures.
There will be time set aside in the day to take in the stunning beauty of the surroundings, relax by the pool, head off to the beach or take a walk.
Things to do
Between morning and evening yoga classes there will be plenty of time to relax by the natural swimming pool or take a massage with a local therapist.
Or you can head off to the beach for a day. There are sandy, secluded and unspoiled beaches to be found within a 30 minute drive away. Parasols and a picnic can be provided for a day out swimming and sunbathing.
If you want to explore the area on foot there are many scenic walks to the local village of Nijar, perfect for a drink al fresco in a picturesque setting. For more of an adventure you can walk up to the mountain village of Huebro via the Ruta del Agua, following the spring-fed river to the pool at the source of the water where you can have a refreshing swim!
The city of Almeria is just half an hour away with an impressive cathedral and the 10th century Alcazabar, a fortified complex within Almeria city and the largest Muslim fortress in Spain.
Accommodation & food
The stylish and bohemian Finca and surrounding cortijos offer charming, bright rooms. All rooms have air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms.
There are two swimming pools, terraces and quiet corners shaded by jasmine, all set in 30 acres of olive and citrus groves.
Delicious, healthy vegetarian meals using locally sourced seasonal produce are offered throughout the retreat. Dining is al fresco on a shaded terrace beneath the vines. The group take dinner out at a local restaurant on one evening.
Client Reviews
“I had a fantastic time on the Almeria retreat. The venue was beautiful and we had amazing food for the whole week. Emma was a fabulous teacher and created a lovely welcoming and inclusive atmosphere from the start. I am missing the yoga nidra now I’m back home! I would happily go back to Almeria and to other retreats where Emma is teaching. “

“I had a lovely time in Almeria. The place is gorgeous and Emma was great, both in terms of her classes and looking after us all. I would definitely book another holiday if she was the teacher. The food was fantastic and the finca was really well run. Thanks for your flawless organisation.”
